Who remote online notarization is for

Remote online notarization (RON) lets you sign and have a document notarized by live audio-video session with a Nevada electronic notary instead of meeting in person. It is used by signers who are traveling, deployed, living out of state, in a hospital or care facility, or who simply need a notarization the same day without leaving home. Signature on Demand's electronic notaries are registered with the Nevada Secretary of State under NRS 240.192 and complete sessions seven days a week by appointment, including same-day and after-hours sessions.

How a remote online notary session works

1. Select and pay. Choose the number of notarized signatures in the package selector above and complete secure checkout. The total is fixed before you pay, and a receipt is emailed to you automatically.

2. Open your session link. The link is shown on the checkout page and on your receipt. Open it, upload your document as a PDF, and have your government-issued photo ID ready.

3. Verify your identity. Nevada requires credential analysis of your ID and identity confirmation before the notarial act (NRS 240.1991 and 240.1997). The session is recorded and the recording is retained as Nevada law requires (NRS 240.1995).

4. Sign, notarize, download. You sign on camera. Our notary applies an electronic signature and electronic seal and renders the document tamper-evident (NRS 240.199). You download the notarized PDF right away.

What you need for the session

• A computer, tablet or phone with a working camera and microphone and a stable internet connection

• A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID (driver's license, state ID, passport or passport card); see our guide to acceptable identification

• The complete, unsigned document as a PDF. Do not sign before the session; you sign on camera.

Pricing is per notarized signature and is shown in the package selector above. The amount you see at checkout is the total for the signatures selected. Nevada sets the maximum fee an electronic notary may charge for each electronic notarial act under NRS 240.197. Signing from outside Nevada

Nevada's Electronic Notarization Enabling Act provides that a notarial act performed by a Nevada electronic notary for a person located outside Nevada by audio-video communication is not deemed performed outside the State (NRS 240.198(4)). In practice, signers in other states and other countries use our service regularly. Because the party receiving your document decides whether to accept it, confirm with the recipient, such as a county recorder, court, lender, bank or government agency, that it accepts a remotely notarized Nevada document before you book.

More remote online notary questions

Is the session recorded? Yes. Nevada requires the electronic notary to record an audio-video notarization and keep the recording for the period set by law (NRS 240.1995).

Can two people sign in the same session? Yes, each signer appears on camera, is identified separately, and each notarized signature is counted in the package you select.

What if my ID does not pass verification? The session cannot proceed without successful identification. Contact us and we will explain the alternatives, including an in-person mobile notary appointment in the Las Vegas area.

Can the notary tell me which document I need or how to fill it out? No. A Nevada notary verifies identity and witnesses signatures and cannot give legal advice.
