What is Small Claims Court?

​

Small Claims Court in Clark County handles disputes involving $10,000 or less. You represent yourself—no attorney required or permitted to represent you in court. However, your documents must meet court standards.

Requirements:

• Must be 18+ to file

• Must send certified demand letter before filing

• Must file in correct jurisdiction (1 of 11 Justice Courts)

• Must properly serve each defendant after filing

Certified Demand Letter — $125 per defendant

Required by Nevada law before filing. We prepare and mail:

• Demand letter stating amount owed and basis for claim

• Certified mail with return receipt requested

• Tracking documentation

• Copies for your records

You must wait at least 15 days after mailing before filing your case.

Small Claims Document Package — $200

​

After the demand period, we prepare your filing documents:

• Affidavit of Complaint (typed, formatted to court standards)

• Organized copies: 1 for court, 1 for each defendant, 1 for you

• Required attachments (demand letter copy, mailing proof)

• Instructions for filing in your specific courthouse

Service must be completed at least 30 days before your court date. Each defendant must be served individually, even if they live or work together.

The Process: Step by Step

1. Free Consultation You tell us your situation. We explain the document preparation process and identify which services you need.

2. Demand Letter ($125 per defendant) We prepare and mail your

certified demand letter(s). You receive tracking information for each.

​

3. Document Preparation ($200) After the required waiting period, we prepare your Affidavit of Complaint and all attachments.

​

4. Filing You file documents with the appropriate Justice Court and pay filing fees directly to the court.

​

5. Service ($100 first defendant / $45 each additional same location) We coordinate service of process on each defendant and prepare your Proof(s) of Service.

6. Court You represent yourself at the hearing. We do not attend with you.

Will you come to court with me? No. We do not provide representation. You represent yourself in small claims court.

What's the difference between you and a lawyer? Lawyers give legal advice, develop legal strategy, and represent clients in court. Document preparers complete forms based on information provided by the client. If you need legal advice, you should consult an attorney.

Do I have to use a document preparer? No. You can prepare and file documents yourself. Many people use our services to save time and ensure documents are formatted correctly.

What if I'm suing multiple people? Each defendant must be served individually. First defendant is $100; each additional defendant at the same address is $45. If defendants live at different addresses, each is $100.

What if the business has multiple locations? You must serve the registered agent or principal office. If attempting service at multiple locations, each location is $100.
